About

Me:
I dislike writing about myself in general. Somehow it seems vain, but by the grace of God I am what I am. So here goes: I am blessed to be the husband of the most wonderful woman on the planet, and my best friend. I am also the father of four precious children who are truly a gift from God. We live in Waxhaw, North Carolina and are members of Cross Park Church (PCA) in Charlotte.

I earned an A.S. in Recording Arts from Full Sail University in 2002 and was formerly employed at the Christian Research Institute as the Senior Audio Engineer/Producer of the nationally syndicated Bible Answer Man* radio broadcast. I am also a musician and have been involved in church worship ministry for many years. My hobbies include creative writing, reading, gaming, and tinkering with computers. I have an affinity for technology (when it works) and love the writings of J.R.R Tolkien.

Purpose:
My desire is to know God and to make Him known, Col. 1:28. I believe that an accurate understanding of the Triune God as revealed in Scripture is vital to the Christian faith and affects every aspect of our lives. So knowing God through His Word is of the highest importance. The purpose of this blog, therefore, is to share my thoughts on theology and the Christian life, and hopefully encourage and exhort other believers in their faith. I hope to offer discernment and clearly articulate the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As a layperson I have no formal training, but I spend a great deal of time studying and reading the Scriptures as well as other theological books. I've completed many courses with Ligonier Connect and enjoy listening to sermons, seminary lectures, and Christian webcasts. I realize this blog is just my opinion, so insofar as it accords with sound doctrine, may God be glorified.

Beliefs:
See the Beliefs page for a full description, but in brief, I believe in the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one in substance, three in person. I believe the Bible is inerrant, infallible, and given by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit containing everything necessary for faith and practice. I believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone. I believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus and His return on the Last Day to judge the world. And in particular, I hold to Reformed theology because I believe it to be the most God-honoring, Christ-exalting, logically consistent, and biblically faithful understanding of the Christian faith.
